Coronavirus (COVID-19) catch-up premium

The government has announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time.

Schools’ allocations will be calculated on a per pupil basis, providing each mainstream school with a total of £80 for each pupil in years reception through to 11. This funding will be provided in 3 tranches with the first being received in November. We will consider

Consider one-on-one or small group tutoring
one-to-one or in small groups (up to 5 pupils)
Targeted at pupils’ specific needs

Run after-school or lunchtime lessons
Aligned with learning that’s going on during the rest of the day, not an add-on. Pupils should feel like it’s an extension of the classroom and expectations are the same, and they shouldn’t see it as a “fall-back” option

Catch-up can take place in class
Effective catch-up in separate intervention groups, or within the classroom, alongside pupils who are consolidating their learning.

On-line payment system

We are a cashless school and use an on-line payment system called All parents will be provided with a username and password to log into this system.
Please remember to go to the ‘sign in’ option at the top right hand corner and that the last option “School money parent login” is selected

Here at St Michael’s we are fully inclusive school. We have many children who have severe allergies and require an Epipen when necessary. It is for this reason that we ask parents not to bring in any nuts or nut based products into our school.

If your child has packed lunch then please ensure they do not have nuts or peanut butter as this could seriously affect another child.
